Anushka Sharma, the 5'9 ft tall girl gifted with a pretty face, is the lucky one who got the golden opportunity to make her debut under the Yashraj Banner. Her father is a high ranked army officer and her mother is a simple home maker. Anushka celebrates her birthday on 1st May,she was born in the year 1988 in Bangalore, Karnataka.

Right from the beginning, Anushka wanted to make it big in the glamour world. She entered in to being a model after completion of High School Education. She studied in the Army School and then went ahead to graduate in Arts from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. Later, she began working for obtaining a degree in Economics. With moral support of her parents, a confident Anushka got herself enrolled in Elite Modeling Agency. She got groomed by renowned style consultant Prasad Bidapa, who met her when she was just 13. He admits that Anushka always had the quality to be a star.

Anushka was the chosen one to be famous fashion designer Wendell Rodrick's finale model at the last Fashion Week. Since then the demure looking model has done campaigns for Silk & Shine, Whisper and Fiat Palio. With a set of expressive eyes, this young girl had always wanted to be a model and had once quoted "I can't see myself doing anything else".

It wasn't long before Bollywood started chasing her. She made her debut in 2008 with none other than Shah Rukh Khan in Aditya Chopra's "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi" as 'Taani'. Yash Raj films had created much mystery and speculation about the girl who would be cast opposite SRK in their mega venture 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi'. The suspense came to an end with the announcement of Anushka Sharma's name as the female lead for the film.

Her next film is again under the Yashraj Banner, directed by Parmeet Sethi where she is starring opposite Shahid Kapur. The movie has just hit the floor and like any other Yashraj movie, not much information about the movie has been revealed.
