Atul Agnihotri's first film was Mahesh Bhatt's Sir, opposite Pooja Bhatt and Nasseruddin Shah. The film was a hit and audiences looked up and took notice of this young actor. But with films like 'Aatish' with Sanjay Dutt and Karisma Kapoor his career began to disintegrate even before it began. Then came more films like Krantiveer with Nana Patekar, Sambhandh, Yeshwant and 'Naaraaz', but they could do nothing to push him forward. Some of his other films include Hote Hote Pyar Ho Gaya with Jackie Shroff and Kajol and Ek Ke Peeche Ek with Monisha Koirala.
