Actor Emran Hashmi seems to have made his reputation, more as a serial kisser than as an actor. Born on March 24, 1979, in Mumbai, the actor has been launched by Vishesh Films and has continued to work in quite a few films for the production house. The actor is Mahesh Bhatt's nephew and thus finds a place in most films made by the Bhatts, Mukesh and Mahesh. Besides his claim to fame as a serial kisser, the actor has also made a mark for himself as having essayed quite unconventional roles in most of his movies.

The actor made his debut with a film called Footpath, in 2003, but the film did not fare very well. The film that shot him to fame was Murder, which featured him opposite the sizzling Mallika Sherawat. The film was a hit and it started a spurt of hits for the young actor like Zeher, Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Kalyug, Gangster, The Train, Aawarapan and the recent Jannat. Despite having very nondescript looks, the actor has managed to create a place for himself in the industry. His success has been buoyed by the success of the musical score of almost all his films. Most of the songs from his movies have gone on to become chartbusters. Currently, the actor is working on Raaz 2, which features Kangna Ranaut and Adhyayan Suman as well.
