Modelling was not a recognized profession then. It just happened that when she was 16, she was in India holidaying with her family when destiny laid some plans for her. She was spotted and convinced to do the famous Bombay Dyeing ad. With no thrills and frills, she went back to Canada only to return soon after. Destiny has its own ways. A light-eyed, extremely breath taking beautiful model was born. Lisa Ray had arrived.
Back after a year, as her family was involved in an car accident, Lisa continued from were she had left Bombay Dyeing. But she was never so very serious about modelling as a career until a while ago. After many years of commuting between Canada and India, she finally decided to settle down here. The Bombay Dyeing ad will remain her perennial favourite. The other one's been that of Lakme and Sprite. Some more to add to her credits' BPL Oye and Starbiz on television . All these while, though she was getting many offers, she was staying away from Bollywood. But eventually Lisa found the calling too strong to resist. She landed up in a film called "Kasoor".
Kasoor was a suspense thriller film with a right touch of romance into it. It had "Mast" fame Aftab Shivdasani, Ashutosh Rana and Irfan along with Lisa Ray. Her career is that of a modern, progressive, career oriented woman.She also did Deepa Mehta's film "Holloywood Bollywood"and is looking for many such offers in future..well Best of luck Lisa!
