Neetu Singh

She is one of those rare child artists who made it big as a grown up actress also. Baby Sonia had brought many drops of tears in her debut film 'Do Kaliyan' as a child artist. This film also let her do a double-role, which boosted her career tremendously. Her first film had Mala Sinha and Biswajeet as her parents and got her a grip in the industry.

Baby Sonia after doing many more films as a child artist vanished from the scene to emerge as the grown up Neetu Singh who charmed everyone by her bubbly and giggling nature. Raj Kapoor was the first one to spot her but preferred Dimple Kapadia opposite Rishi Kapoor in 'Bobby'. Had he selected her, Neetu Singh would have been cast in a movie called 'Ram Teri Ganga Maili' opposite Rishi Kapoor. This was not to be and this said film got released many years later with newcomer Mandakini in the lead. Coming back to Neetu Singh, she made her debut against another Kapoor lad, Randhir, in 'Rickshawala'. This soon went off unnoticed and Neetu Singh still looked for other plum offers. She soon started getting work and some of her movies are 'Deewar', 'Yaarana' and 'The Burning Train'. She has worked with almost all the top actors of her time like Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor and Jeetendra.

But she looked great with Rishi Kapoor and has done numerous films with him. Some of them are 'Rafoo Chakkar', 'Amar Akbar Anthony', 'Kabhi Kabhi', 'Doosra Aadmi' and 'Khel Khel Mein'. After a great hoopla, she got married to her co-star of these films Rishi Kapoor and settled for marital bliss. Her career had come to an end.
