Pooja Bhatt

Daughter of ace filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt was not involved with movies before she stumbled upon the script of "Daddy". So impressed was this 17-year-old, that she decided to play the role of Anupam Kher's daughter. The film did whole lot of good for both Anupam Kher and Pooja Bhatt and they were considered quite talented actors.

Pooja Bhatt's career as an actress was never a rosy one. She has done most of the films with father director Mahesh Bhatt and was never interested in outside movies. But some of her movies worth mentioning are "Dil Hain Ki Manta Nahi" which was inspired by two hit films "Chori Chori" and "It Happened One Night". Dil Hain Ke Manta Nahi was with Aamir Khan and many thought she would continue doing many more such films. But the audiences were disappointed. She has a string of movies like "Sir" (Atul Agnihotri), "Chor Aur Chand" (Aditya Pancholi), "Satwa Aasmaan" (Vivek Mushran), "Chahat" (Shahrukh Khan), "Prem Deewane" (Jackie Shroff & Vivek Mushran) and her other movie was 'Kabhi Na Kabhi' with Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff.

Despite being a good actress, she has not able to bring out the real talent in her. But from last couple of years, she has turned into a producer and churned out some good movies like "Tamanna" (Paresh Rawal), "Dushman' (Kajol & Sanjay Dutt)' "Zakhm" with Ajay Devgan where she herself played the role of Ajay's mother. She also acted and produced the popular television serial "Dhoond" on one of the satellite channels.

All her movies have won her some or the other award. The films have been inspired by true happenings of life and people have enjoyed watching them immensely. Pooja Bhatt might have turned a producer and decided to remain behind the screen, but the kind of passion she has shown in film-making is simply mind-blowing. And at such a young age!
