Prachi is one of the first of Ekta Kapoor's discoveries, who has managed to make a smooth transition from television to cinema. Much of the credit for that should go to Ekta and her family, who adore Prachi and have tried their best to push her. After creating a stir nationwide as Bani Walia in the teleserial "Kasamh Se', Prachi danced her way into people's hearts by winning the dance reality show, "Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 2'. She was picked up by Abhishek Kapoor for his maiden directorial film, Rock On (2008), where she was cast opposite Farhan Akhtar. The film went on to become one of the success stories of 2008. The girl next door, as she is known currently has 2 films in her kitty "Life Partner', directed by Rumi Jaffrey opposite Tusshar Kapoor and "Once Upon A Time in Mumbai' directed by Milan Luthria opposite Emraan Hashmi.
