Purab Kohli has dabbled in modeling, veejaying and acting for quite a while. But he won his fair bit of fame only when he worked for Channel V as a VJ. Acting happened by chance for him and he was a part of teleserials like Hip Hip Hurray, Chota Moo Badi Baat and Sangharsh much before he became a part of Channel V. He became quite a regular face following his stint with ads like Colgate, Pizza Hut and Campaq Prassario. He began his acting career way back in 2003 with "Bas Yun Hi' opposite Nandita Das. He followed that up with roles in films like "Supari' and "Vastu Shastra'. It was Onir's "My Brother Nikhil' which got noticed by critics. It helped him in landing a role in Mahesh Bhatt's "Woh Lamhe' and "Awarapan'. But it was Abhishek Kapoor's "Rock On', which catapulted him to fame along with the rest of the cast. Life seems to be just begining for this young actor, who got a special mention by the jury at this year's Filmfare Awards.
