This youngest son of legendary Raj Kapoor was always bitten by the bug of acting. He coaxed his father in giving him chance and so got selected for home production "Mera Naam Joker". This chubby-cheeked, kid turned into a handsome Rishi Kapoor and enthralled everyone with his super hit film "Bobby" (1973) opposite newcomer Dimple Kapadia.
Rishi Kapoor catapulted to instant fame with "Bobby" but whatever films came after that were no where in comparison with it. Some of his other movies were "Khel Khel Mein", "Pyar Ke Kabil", "Hum Kisise Kam Nahin", "Rafo Chakker", "Jhoota Kahi Ka", "Prem Rog", "Karz" and "Zamane Ko Dikhana Hai". He is someone who has worked with the likes of Dimple Kapadia to Urmila Mantondkar. He also became famous as the younger brother of Amitabh Bachchan in most of his films like "Naseeb", "Amar Akbar Anthony" and "Coolie". Rishi Kapoor also did some good films like "Nagina", "Deewana", "Chandni", "Bol Radha Bol", "Damini" and many more films with new actresses.
He could not continue as the eternal lover boy and there came a point in his career where he had to give up such roles. He gracefully went behind the camera and came out with a beautiful movie like "Aa Ab Laut Chale" starring Akhaye Khanna and Aishwarya Rai.
