Ritesh started his professional career by joining the family business Marlex, a renowned name in home appliances. An ardent film buff, he always wanted to start a production company of his own but bided his time, researching the business for a couple of years. When Ritesh felt that he was ready to start the ball rolling, he dounded a film production house under the banner of Excel Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. Along with long time friend Farhan, he brought to the audience 'Dil Chahta Hai', his first film under his banner.
