Sanjay Suri

Born in Kashmir, actor Sanjay Suri began his tryst with showbiz when he began modeling during his days in Delhi. He made his first foray into acting with the film Pyar Main Kabhi Kabhi where he played a supporting role opposite Dino Morea and Rinkie Khanna in 1999. The film may not have done well, but Suri was noticed.

There followed films like Daman, Filhaal, Dil Vil Pyar Vyar and Jhankar Beats, in which Suri proved his mettle as an actor. His role in a film like Pinjar got him a lot of rave reviews. But the one film which really propelled him into limelight was Jhankar Beats in 2003. Cast opposite Juhi Chawla, he seems to have finally arrived. But a spate o bad luck at the box office has continued to dog him. Two years later, he delivered a knock-out performance in Onir's My Brother Nikhil, where he played a homosexual AIDS victim. The movie won a lot of critical acclaim but failed at the box office. Currently, the actor is working again with Onir in Sorry Bhai, a film which also stars Chitrangada Singh and Sharman Joshi. The actor has alo moved into production and is producing Onir's film as well. Suri has proved time and again that he is a sensitive actor, but box office success continues to elude him. Hence, despite being acknowledged as a good actor, he is yet to make it to the big league.
