Actor Shiney Ahuja was born on May 15, 1975 in the town of Dehradun. His father is an Army Colonel but Shiney was not interested in pursuing a career in the army but in films. Shiney was lucky that he was picked up by director Sudhir Mishra, who gave him a break with his critically acclaimed Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi. It was released in the festival circuit in 2004 and in theatres in 2005. Despite being pitted against an actor of the caliber of Kay Kay Menon, Shiney's performance was noticed by everyone. In 2006, the actor won the Best Male debut by Filmfare, Screen, Zee and Stardust for the film. He next tasted success with the lead role in Mahesh Bhatt's Gangster made in 2006. It was both a critical and commercial success and he received the best actor award by Stardust in 2007 for this movie. He also received the Society Young Achiever's Award in 2007 for the same. His next release, Woh Lamhe, also did quite well at the box office. Last year, the actor was seen in Life In A Metro, the hit Bhool Bhulaiyya and Mishra's Khoya Khoya Chand. This year, the actor has been seen in Hijack, an action thriller which failed to light up the box office. His forth films include Har Pal directed by Jahnu Barua and staring Preity Zinta.
