Sonali Kulkarni

Sonali has been working in theatre since childhood. A student of Pt. Satyadev Dubey, she bagged several state awards and gold medals in acting. She has also completed a 3 year course in classical singing. She has done her B.A. in Polictical Scienc and has a diploma in Bharat Natyam.

Sonali made her Hindi film debut in Girish Karnad's Chelluvi (1992), and since then has worked in approximately 15 films. In addition to this, she has done over a 160 shows of a commercial Marathi play, Chahool, lent her voice for two film playback songs and is part of a self coordinated theatre group, 'Samanway', in Pune.

All through her career, Sonali's tgalent has recognised at various levels. She won the Film Fan Association Award for Best Debut, Maharashtra State Award for Best Actress twice, Filmfare Award for Best Actress (Marathi Films) and the prestigious V. Shantaram Award in 1996. She has also been honoured with the Best Actress Award at the Vallanciense International Film Festival, France, for her performance in Daayra (1995).
