Bubbly, sweet smile and extravagant looks is what describes the model turned actress Vaishali Desai the best. She is the grand niece of the renowned director and producer, Manmohan Desai. She was born in Bangalore on 18th December, 1984. She did her schooling from Sophia High School and finished her graduation in psychology from Mount Caramel College in Bangalore. Her sister Jaituni is also a model and participated in Miss India Contest for the year 2006.
Vaishali started her career as a model in Bangalore and her first stage show was at the age of sixteen. She had participated in the Elite Look of the Year contest in 2004 where she became the 2nd runner up. She continued modeling in Bangalore as a top model and participated in Miss India Contest 2005 where she won the title of Miss India International. She represented India for the same title in Tokyo but unfortunately didn't win it internationally. After her Miss India contest she shifted her base permanently to Mumbai along with her family not only for modeling but also for her further studies.
Vaishali has also done a couple of commercial advertisements but her major breakthrough was 'Ponds Dreamflower Talc'. This was followed by commercials for 'Tanishq', 'Indian Oil Campaign', 'Raymonds' and 'Compaq Laptop'. She has also done a couple of advertisements down south including 'Swarnam Oil' and 'Power detergent' amongst others. Vaishali has done various ramp shows for top Indian designers. She has participated in the 'Lakme Fashion week', 'Dhaka Fashion week' and in the 'Sri Lankan Fashion week'. She has done shows for L'Oreal, Moschino, etc. She has also done a lot of print work as well as editorial work.
Vaishali Desai has also featured in music videos and her first video was for Kumar Sanu in the song "Aisa na dekho Mujhe". She continued doing videos for the Indian band 'Euphoria' namely 'Soneya', 'Mehfuz' and a short cameo in 'Rab Jaane'.
Vaishali Desai has made her entry in Bollywood with her debut movie "Kal Kissne Dekha", directed by Vivek Sharma, produced by Vashu Bhagnani, co starring debutant Jackky Bhagnani. The movie is a romantic-thriller where the actor Jackky has the ability to see the future. Vaishali plays a spoilt brat of the college and is said to be rude, proud and rolling in money.
The hottie seems to have made a great start with a movie of a concept never seen before. She looks challenging and sure to keep the pace going.
