With only one Twitter account between all 10 of Oscars’ Best Actor and Actress nominees, (@RealHughJackman holds that honor) tracking the behind-the-scenes action from the Kodak Theater via the stars this Sunday is tricky. But not entirely impossible.
While A-listers have been slow to share their lives in 140 characters or less, there are plenty of socially-savvy red carpet hosts, stylists and official Oscar folk ready to grant you exclusive access. Here’s a sampling of the best Twitter and Instagram accounts to follow for a front-row seat to the 85th Academy Awards (or you can simply subscribe to @YahooMovies’ Oscars 2013 list!).
Host: Seth MacFarlane
The host’s Twitter feed (@SethMacFarlane) is irreverent, self-deprecating and full of jokes from his industry friends. Much like what we’re hoping his monologue will be. Plus he’s convinced his dad, Ron MacFarlane (@DadMacFarlane), to join Twitter. While MacFarlane Senior’s been slow to embrace social—only 16 tweets over a three month span—we’re hoping he steps it up for Oscars. Vine tutorial, anyone?
This year’s Oscars will be like nothing you can imagine.Unless you can imagine 3 hours of, like, people getting awards and stuff.

Producer: Neil Meron Officially, Neil Meron (@NeilMeron) is the Oscars Producer, along with partner Craig Zadan. But Neil’s also been putting together a digital storyboard on producing Hollywood’s biggest night, tweeting a slew of insider details and photos ever since he got the gig. More, please!
Nominees: Adele, Ben Affleck, Helen Hunt, Hugh Jackman
Since there are only four A-list nominees with Twitter accounts, we’re going to recommend you follow them all—even though the chances of Best Picture nominee Ben Affleck (@BenAffleck) snapping a selfie with Jennifer Garner are slim. Expect unbridled enthusiasm (and expletives) from Best Song nominee Adele (@OfficialAdele), pleas for world peace and environmental consciousness from Ben and Supporting Actress nominee Helen Hunt (@HelenHunt) and some dishy pics from Hugh Jackman (@RealHughJackman).

E! Red Carpet Hosts: Kelly Osbourne, Ross Matthews, Giuliana Rancic and Ryan Seacrest E!’s red carpet crew—Kelly Osbourne (@MissKellyO), Ross Matthews (@HelloRoss), Giuliana Rancic (@GiulianaRancic) and Ryan Seacrest (@RyanSeacrest)—love to go mobile before their live show. And while the others’ glamour shots are appreciated, it’s Kelly’s candid tweets that offer the best perspective on the grunt work involved before the cameras get rolling.
“omg Insider” Red Carpet Hosts: Kristen Aldridge, Kevin Frazier and Thea Andrews
Yahoo’s own “omg Insider” team, which includes Kristen Aldridge (@KristenAldridge), Kevin Frazier (@KevinFrazier) and Thea Andrews (@TheaAndrews), will be interviewing stars on the red carpet, snapping candid shots and (fingers crossed) doing more tequila shots with George Clooney. Cheers to that!

ABC’s Pre-Show Host: Kelly Rowland Kelly Rowland (@kellyrowland) has joined Kristin Chenoweth, Robin Roberts, Lara Spencer and Jess Cagle as host of ABC’s Oscars pre-show. Her Twitter timeline is generic (and seems staffed by a team) but the singer’s Instagram account has a nice mix of backstage moments you’d otherwise miss (Oh, hi Beyoncé!) and sexy bikini shots.
Jennifer Lawrence’s Style Team: Rachel Zoe, Mark Townsend and Jillian Dempsey
Rachel Zoe (@RachelZoe), Mark Townsend (@MarkTownsend1) and Jillian Dempsey (@JillianDempsey) are the fashion and beauty team who styled Jennifer Lawrence through the Golden Globes and SAG Awards. Everyone knows these insiders have the ultimate celebrity access so we’re hoping for a repeat performance at the Academy Awards—Instagram photos and all!

Oscars Digital Lounge Hosts: Jake Whetter, Allison McNamara and Brian Anthony Hernandez
For the first time ever, the Academy is hosting a Red Carpet Digital Lounge to dissect the night’s style trends. The lounge is staffed by media types—Radio Disney’s Jake Whetter (@JakeWhetter), Popsugar’s Allison McNamara (@AllisonMcNamara) and Mashable’s Brian Anthony Hernandez (@BAHJournalist)—who will hopefully attempt to outdo each other in an effort to capture and share celebrity photos to their Twitter and Instagram accounts.
