The story of ‘Ek Thi Dayaan’ is based on Konkona Sen Sharma’s father Mukul Sharma‘s book
Konkona’s upcoming film ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ is based on a subject she has been aware of. Not much is about the plot of the supernatural thriller except that it involves something to do with witchcraft. Very few people are aware of the fact that the story of the film is based on Konkona’s father Mukul Sharma‘s book. Mukul is a columnist of Times Of India and based his book on observations he made in Bengal. It is said that witch craft is very rampant in Bengal and Sharma became very aware of the cult in Bengal and observed witches and their craft.
Since Konkana Sen also grew up in Kolkata where witch craft is practiced on a large scale, she could grasp the nuances and intricacies of her role and this knowledge and awareness really helped her perform well. Akshay Kumar’s 'Special Chabbis' has been kept completely under wraps. Entire team has taken a lot of effort in keeping the news underground on what the film is about.
Officially, 'Special Chabbis' is an edgy gritty heist drama and the makers and is said to be based on the real-life daring heist dated 19-Mar-1987 where an unknown man posing as CBI officer Mon Singh recruited 26 men and executed a daylight raid on the Opera House branch of Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri in Mumbai and disappeared with jewellery worth lakhs.
However sources close to the unit reveal that everyone is trying to underplay the role of Akshay Kumar role, based on Mithilesh Kumar Srivastava, better known as Natwarlal. Natwarlal was the inspiration behind Amitabh Bachchan’s 1979 film 'Mr Natwarlal'.

Not every fan of Salman Khan is this lucky. Autorickshaw driver Ram Lal, who generally works around Bandra, is a diehard Salman Khan fan and can boast of his proximity to the star. Every time his favourite star’s film releases, he decks up his auto with the film’s name. He has also driven his auto in one of the scenes in both Dabangg as well as Dabangg 2.
