In Subhash Ghai's last film Black And White, your performance was very much appreciated as a lead man; some claimed that you are a great discovery. What do you think?

Subhash ji is a great director for any actor whether he is new or a top star. I was lucky enough when I was chosen by Subhash ji since he was looking for a new face and a competitive performer to perform this complex chcracter of a suicide bomber in Black And White.

The audience too has recognized you as a very talented actor but they have yet to see you as a conventional romantic hero.

Yes, I am aware of it. I am an actor and have to perform what my writer and director have conceived. I have just to color my self into that character and perform to the best whether it's a love story, a thriller or an action film.

What kind of roles would you like to play?

It is always the script that comes first as it commands an actor to play the shades of the given character. So my liking is secondary. The first priority I can think today is just script I get to read and like the character and the director who is excited about it. Finally it's a director's medium.

Do you think that an actor is good judge of a story while accepting or rejecting it?

He is as good as you or a common audience. We are not supposed to judge a script with a final verdict but to look into our role how interesting it is and contributes in the given story, which also has to be interesting enough.

We did not hear of any announcements after your first film.

I am a new kid in the industry and hardly know how to select my next projects. I keep getting calls and offers but may be I am too careful about my next projects. I cannot afford to vanish after three four movies, I am here to stay for a long time. May be spend my whole life as an actor.

Have you been offered any films so far?

Yes many of big production houses called me to look at their projects and wanted me to act in them but most of them were not ready with any script but wanted me to sign.

So did you sign them?

No, I politely told them that I am here to act only and I will surely be with them the moment they finalize the script and I find my role worth doing.

Are you not insecure not having any film on the floor?

All those films will go on the floor one day. I am not in a hurry. I can wait till I get a right role and the right director. As I said I want to stay here for a long time.

Has Subhash Ghai offered you any of his future projects?

Yes I have been signed by Mukta Arts for their next three films and two projects are in the pipeline. They are at the scripting stages. I am not supposed to tell you anything about these projects till Mukta Arts announce them on its 30th anniversary (30th October).

What kind of films are they?

One is a big budget action film. The other is a romantic thriller. I cannot tell you anything more.

Is Subhash Ghai directing any one of these two?

May be. That's your guess. At the moment he is too busy in Yuvraaj.

What best did you learn from Mr. Ghai?

Respect for all. Whether you work with them or not and you will see they will respect you too. Second I learnt from him to be calm and patient and never fear any crisis.

What do you feel when you see a competition of lot of new stars coming this year, particularly, Rabir, Imran, Harman, Neil Mukesh and so on?

They all are very good actors and will survive for long but also there is rapid increase in number of productions in Bollywood. So every one can make place comfortably provided he is a good actor.

Are you happy today?

I am cool and patient. I know I have to be happy all the time. Struggle never leaves any actor in his life. One question will always stare him in the face "what next?"
