Tell us about the character in your film 'Rock On'.

The role that I am playing in this movie, the name of that character is Aditya Shroff. He is an Investment Banker. And when you meet him for the first time, he is married to Prachi Desai. They have a very happy life and are about to become parents. The people who watch them feel they are a very happy family but when you enter in their life you come to know that there are so many ups and downs in their life. And the happiness that should be there between couples is lacking and something is missing. This film starts when Prachi discovers something about her husband's past and then the whole movie unravels from that moment onwards. So that is the character I am and that goes between the 10 years ago, which is the band that was together and were really at their peak and today which is, I am an Investment banker.

What made you play this character as a debut?

Nothing such was designed that I want to play this or that kind of role. Whenever I was offered a script I have always done it on the bases of the story or rejected it. So when I heard this story, when Abhishek got it to me, the character and story that was there, whatever the background was, the story which is so much related to the music, so I thought if I don't play this character then I would be very unfair to myself because it is such a wonderful script and such a wonderful character.

How was your experience working with Arjun Rampal?

I have worked with Arjun Rampal in 'Don' as a director. When I saw this film, we are not together in many scenes. Shahana Goswami plays the role of his girlfriend and wife in the film. Personally I think, I have even told this to Arjun and in many interviews that probably till date this is the Arjun's finest performance. He has done a fantastic job and I think people are going to be taken in by his performance in the movie. It is very very heart felt and very sincere performance.
