What character are you playing in 'Firaaq'?

The character that I am playing is of a man who Is involved in an act. It is about what he goes through with his brother and family members.

What attracted you to work in the movie 'Firaaq'?

The script, Nandita Das and the assembly of other actors attracted me to work for 'Firaaq'. It is joy to be a part of good cinema.

How was it working with Nandita Das as a director?

I think she is fantastic. She should really continue with direction. She has some good subjects in mind and I have been telling her to announce the movies.

Nandita is an actor turned director. Do you think this is an advantage for the cast and crew?

She herself is such a fine actress that one gets to learn a lot from her. Ultimately an actor has to perform but with a director like her, it's a big advantage.

What do you think about the cast of the movie?

All the characters taken for this movie are believable and will look real.

You have done a lot comedy roles and now getting into serious roles. Are you changing the image of a comedian set for you in the industry?

I have not just done comedy roles, but also have given a variety to my characters. People have appreciated my work in Mumbai Meri Jaan which is a serious film. So people know I am an all round actor and not just a comedian. I have done negative roles and other roles in the past. Audiences do welcome it and look forward to it.
