In 'Kambakkht Ishq' you are portraying the role of a stunt man. How does it feel doing what you are best at?
The film is not an action film. I am just playing my profession in the film which is of a stunt man. Actually it is a romantic comedy film and not a stunt film.
How was it working with the Hollywood superstar Sylvester Stallone and what kind of rapport did you share with him?
We had lots to share as he had just shot for 'Rambo' about almost a year ago in Thailand. I also come from there as have stayed there for about six years. So we had lot in common to talk about. He loves that country. We also shared some health tips. He also had this knee problem and there were discussions about every person who does action has to go through some knee problems. So just exchanging of some techniques on stunts and dealing with health. Moreover, I also learnt the way actors work there. They not only know their lines but also know the entire script and who is saying what. So that was commendable.
In 'Kambakkht Ishq' you keep saying one thing 'Women are good only for two things'. What are those two things?
You will have to see the movie to find out. It is just the character saying that line. I am playing a male chauvinist. The way I improve, respect women and eventually believe that women are stronger than men is shown in the film.
Tell us about the role of Viraj Shergill which you are playing in the film.
Viraj Shergill is a stunt man who does stunts for celebrities in Hollywood. I got an opportunity to do stunts for superman and then Rambo. The movie is actually a battle of sexes between male and female and ultimately the female wins.
Sabbir Khan is making his directorial debut with 'Kambakkht Ishq'. How was your equation with him? Did you have any apprehensions working with a new director?
I enjoy working with new directors. It is quite surprising that I always get new directors. In fact as a coincidence, I always get new directors. Whenever I work with new directors, I can see the greed in them to prove themselves with their work. They bring new ideas on the table and that is what inspired me to work with Sabbir. I can see the result and hoping from a positive response.
How different was "Kambakkht Ishq" in terms of stunts since you had a team from Hollywood taking care of them?
They believe a lot in safety and I had to sign a couple of documents before performing any stunts. They tell before hand the precautions to be taken. Whereas here we just come and perform stunts without any paper work. I got to learn a lot from them.
