Like mama like bhatija. Aamir Khan's nephew Imran Khan from his JAANE TU...YAA JAANE NA days has made it clear that he is going to take the lead of Bollywood's young brigade. The actor chats up with our days before the release of his third film LUCK

Do you believe in luck?

Not really. But my life has been lucky in all aspects so far.

After KIDNAP, again you are trying you action hero image in LUCK. Don't you think your fans want to see more of your romantic side like in JAANE TU?

I know it's my duty to cater to the demands of my fans. But I don't want to confine myself as lover-boy of Hindi films. I want to experiment with every possible role. And I am sure the audience will learn to love me in various avtaars.

You are looking quite tough in the trailers...

I have used a special kind of sinister eye make-up in the film. That goes behind the tough looks.

How was the experience working with Shruti Haasan?

She is wonderful in the film.

Do you consult Aamir while selecting a script?

Not really. I have to go though at least 20 scripts a day. Mamu (Aamir) has always encouraged me to make my own decision and why should he spoon-feed me? (Pauses) You don't understand that I was, and yet not was a star kid. I was not like Ranbir (Kapoor), Hrithik (Roshan) and Farhan (Akhtar) who ate, drank and slept films since their childhood. I started knowing Bollywood only during my JAANE TU days.

Ok. Let's ask you some quick shots.

Shoot...that will be more interesting.

So, are you a party animal?

Not at all. I don't like partying, I don't go for night-outs...the loud music and hooliganish screams make me mad.

What do you do when at home?

I gorge on home-made food and play with my dogs-Kajri and Montana, and cats-Jing Bill and Tigi.

Like Aamir, so you too have a knack for perfection?

Yes. Let aside big and serious things, I am particular about even arranging dinner table-the plates, forks, spoons-everything needs to be in order.

You have recently changed your look for a film. True?

Yes, wish you could see my low lighted hair and eyebrows! It's for Sanjay Gadhvi's 7 DAYS IN PARIS.

What made you take a second chance with Gadhvi, since his KIDNAP bombed at the box-office?

You can't judge anyone with a single film. KIDNAP was a different genre film. It was almost back-to-back with JAANE TU. So I think the audience was not prepared to see me change my avatar so quickly. But if you ask me as a film critic, KIDNAP doesn't deserve to bomb so badly at the BO.

Avantika and you are together for over six years now. Any plans to settle down?

Haven't you heard the latest rumour that we are already secretly married? (Laughs and signs out)
