So was it easy to adapt to Kamalji's idea?
Actually it wasn't. It seemed very difficult to make a remake of such a famous classic. I mean when you make a remake, you attract the attention of all critics. I was doing a remake for the first time and also I had the challenge of bringing something new in front of the viewers which would make them think about the directors' added effort in the movie.
Do think the new Victoria No. 203 would be as successful as the old one?
I think it should be. We have put in lots of effort in making the movie. Our main effort was to make the movie in for both the old and the new generation in such a way that both are satisfied with the end product.
What was the most memorable scene in the movie?
The most memorable and the most difficult one was to take the shoot of the Victoria admist the traffic of marine lines. It was a really difficult scene to shoot but in the end all looks well.
How do you think has the film come out comparatively to the classic? Will the viewers be surprised by anything new in the movie? Any new twist to the movie?
In the classic Victoria No. 203 all the scenes were shot in the studio whereas in the new one there are hardly any shots done in the studios. We have taken it outdoors. Also the viewers should expect a big twist in the movie. There is a surprise in every part of the movie especially, a huge one in the climax.
Tell us something about the characters. Are they the same as the old one?
We have added two more important characters in the movie. Except Soniyas' character all the characters would have new special added characteristics.
Every character has its own story to narrate and is important in its own way.
How are the songs in the movie?
The songs in the movie have been modernized to a great extent. They have been given a complete new look, so that the youth of today can relate to it.
Have you been working for any other movies as well?
I have been directing Anamika- a romantic film and Aggar – a suspense thriller.
