After the trendsetting success of madcap entertainers like MASTI (2004) and DHAAMAL (2007), big daddies of comedy (Ashok Thakeria and Indra Kumar) are all set for another comical ''dhaamal'' in DADDY COOL. Like these two frothy rib-tickling flicks, this one too packs a bunch of potential on-screen entertainers in it. Veteran director K. Murali Mohan Rao holds all the keys and threads of this live-wire show that has musical attributes from Raghav Sachar and upcoming composer duo Farhan-Sajid. Can this roller coaster comical ride be as musically enthralling as its comical acts? Will this be another ''life-saver'' for these struggling composers or just another album for the listeners? Be cool listeners to it as we plugged into its first track... Inspiration! Bollywood seems to be having age-old fascination for foreign music and this has been materialized with 70's most popular track ''Daddy Cool'' (BONEY M -1976) in the title track ''Daddy Cool''. Anu Malik and Bappi Lahiri made themselves iconic figure in musical fraternity with this ''inspirational attire'' that faced controversy but still got them much needed successes. Raghav Sachar, a musical whiz-kid with potential of playing several instruments takes a U-turn to this inspirational lane in this spunky number that features the entire star-cast. Like the title track of ONE TWO THREE, this title track too has synchronized flute rendition with melodic base of thrilling ''Daddy Cool'' (BONEY M) with peppery touches of ''disco-qawalli'' in its later interludes. Aditya Dhar's lyrics are mix and mash of romantic cum hilarious tones in the acceptable voices of Raghav Sachar and Paroma P. Dasgupta. This ''all gloss-low substance'' has enriched and empowered as promotional feature and is going to be more eye-spectacle than listening pleasure. The ''club-remix'' of this title track comes out to be routine sounding discotheque number with no great shakes. The sensuous ''Kuch Khaas'' (FASHION) made the voice of Neha Bhasin clear in the marquee and now ''Nasha Nasha'' adds some credibility to her discography. Sachar's music has feminine seductive oomph with those ''break-beat'' rhythmical patterns that strikes sensuous chords with vibrant percussions and electronic sounds. Prashant Ingole's chic wordings has modernity and attitude that collage with upbeat tonality to create dazzling spark for the svelte divas. Sachar's composition is a respite this time with tuneful prelude followed with Neha's impressive ''move and groove'' vocal modulations to give it pleasurable decorum of lively happenings. Breath-taking snap-shots, slick choreographic moves along with attention-grabbing camera movement will be surely to the add glam quotient of this frothy comical caper. ''Nasha Nasha (remix)'' adds fervor of zingy disco beat fillers and spice up this sensuously composed number with subtlety of semi-classical instrumentals to add ethnicity to it. It's an innovative move and audible with thriving beat-juggling, DJ spins and echoing giving it sharp edges. Enthralling!!! Upcoming composer Farhad-Sajid take over the baton from Raghav Sachar and punch out vociferously loud situational track about the happenings of ''life'' in fast-paced ''Life Life''. Farhad gets behind the mike and croons out loudly for this situational hilarious number depicting out the lives of all the leading players. The arrangements are routine, lyrics are ordinary and all together it's a passable affair in this hilarious bon voyage. To fill up empty spaces, producers have shown generosity in adding up two lively tracks ''Dekho Ye Dekho'' and ''Miss India Mujhpe Marti Hai'' from their last successful release DHAMAAL but still there is big void that makes it a half-baked album. DADDY COOL turns out to be ''thandi'' (cold) rather than ''cool'' album with just three original and two remixes soundtracks. The saving grace comes in the form of ''Nasha Nasha'' (both versions) while rest of the tracks simply adds to the show. Overall, it's a weak musical show that shows the stunted growth of all composers with average results. Rating - 2/5
