Wonder why the producers spent so much money in the making of HASTEY HASTEY. This movie is neither romantic, nor does have comedy, as the posters suggest. It's neither here, nor there. It hangs listlessly with characters trying to make a plot of it. Within a few minutes, you know you are watching a dud. I get a feeling, like scenes are written on the sets of television serials today, the writer might have decided on the scenes when the actors reported on shoot on a daily basis.
Jimmy Sheirgill is a student at Columbia University who falls in love with Nisha Rawal. He dreams big and gets lucky when an American finances his project for a Call Centre in India. Monishka helps him set-up office in India but when he snubs her advances, she wipes off the funds from the company. Don't ask how.
Nisha dumps Jimmy since her father too is not keen on him and she has received a packet containing photographs, which show her Jimmy getting cozy with Monishka. Then there is one very famous author who is a friend of Jimmy. Don't ask how.
This author tells the television audience that Jimmy is a gem after he has been acquitted of fraud. Nisha manages to catch this footage and changes her mind. She comes back in search of Jimmy and even calls off her impending marriage. In the end, Jimmy meets Nisha.
In between there are three Rajpal Yadavs (triple role) trying to be funny? You are not amused when he keeps saying "dude" and starts running after every white-skinned girl. Suddenly his running after girls stops. Don't ask why.
I'm sure Jimmy and Rajpal are wondering what they are doing in a movie like this. As for Moniksha and Nisha, they have a field day flashing their eyelashes in their debut.
Finally, I wonder why producers and directors take pains to make such senseless nonsense. Beats me.
