well the movie was based on the issue of dowry and shown the kind of treatment a girl has to face if she does not bring dowry the lead cast acted well aamir khan, javed jaari, utpal dutt (one of his last films) and javed jafri gave good performance but there was a lot of scoope for improvemnt in the script also the direction was not up to the mark so just a 3 out of 5.
