Juggad is a film which comes with a story based on a real life incident. In fact, the film has been based on the experiences of producer Sandiip Kumar. Director Anand Kumar takes on the story about the ceiling act which was imposed by the Delhi Government last year. The topic was in the news then, but a year down the line, everybody is talking about recession and not the ceiling in Delhi. This is a problem which films based on current affairs face, unless they have been very well made. Juggad, unfortunately, does not fall in that category.

Besides being dated in that sense, Juggad also fails to evoke any interest because it is a clumsy effort. The root of the problem is again the script and the screenplay. Anand Kumar's writers fail to bring home the human element of the story. Even if one were to put aside the fact that the film's story is dated, what really makes Juggad a non starter is the fact that it fails to bring out the story of the human being. There were obviously many who were impacted, and adversely at that, when the ceiling happened. But that suffering and frustration really does not come out in the film. The poor quality of writing actually lets the film down more than the fact that the incidents the film talks about are old news now. Also the director does not show any kind of innovation.

Sandip (Manoj Bajpai) is a successful CEO of an advertising firm, which is literally out on the streets once its office has been ceiled by the MCD in Delhi. The film then details all the juggad, a slang for all kinds of unethical machinations, that Sandip is forced to resort to, to keep his business afloat. He encounters the character played by Sanjay Mishra, who does all kinds of juggad to help him find solutions for his problem. What could have been a fairly absorbing film about an issue which impacted so many lives, actually gets watered down to such an extent that it seems almost trivial. The film becomes tedious after a point of time. The only time that it summons up any interest is towards the end. But that's about it.

It seems a shame to watch an actor as talented as Manoj Bajpai reduced to doing this kind of a film. This actor deserves better. Even in this badly-written film, the competency of the actor shines through but there is little that he can do to salvage the movie. Other talented actors like Vijay Raaz and Sanjay Mishra seem to be trying too hard. Govind Namdeo and Hrishitaa Bhatt are just about okay. The film's music by Sachin Gupta and Krishna has no recall value.

On the whole, one feels that there is hardly any juggad that one can do to save this film.
