SUNDAY !!! A film by one most prospective big shot directors of Bollywood. After his stylish direction of Zameen and then GOlmaal, I was waiting for this one. Let's come down to the point: Sunday aint a classic ... but what SUNDAY is ... an entertainer ... Sunday entertains you right from Frame 1 to the last one. Coming down to the plot. A sunday is missing in a girls life, a cab driver who keeps asking her for Rs 420, a wannabe actor who keeps calling her bhoot all the time, a gang of 20 men trying to kill her. All these parallel incidents keep confusing Seher in her life. To top that she is a forgetful girls who keeps missing out the finer details of the day to day life. like forgetting the mobile fone, forgetting the date etc. But the forgetfullness aint that big that she will forget an entire day in her life. BUT ... that happens ... a sunday ... she remembers nothing about. On that sunday 2 murders have happened. AJay is pretty sure that she aint the culprit but he also is sure that she has the links to those murders. Ajay then takes up to find out the mystery of the MISSING SUNDAY ... a day on which a plathora of mishaps occured. The cabbbie, the actor and the sub-inspector help him out. Finally the mystery is solved and just like any other hindi movie ... its a happy ending. The story is interesting, and is well executed and commendably shot by Rohit Shetty. The right mix of comedy and suspense makes this movie a great entertainer. Talking of performances, Ajay is headed to silence his haters with a spank in thier ugly BUMS and a slap on thier rat like faces. His switch over from serious to comedy and comedy to serious in the same scene is the high point of this performance. Ayesha - this is her second best performance after DOR .. and yes it is. She looks good though fay yet likeable. Arshad Warsi - No one beats him in comedy. Nana Patekar Jr AKA Irrfan khan does comedy as Nana did in welcome and Taxi. He acts with class and leaves u in splits. Anjana Sukhani has shapely legs and a pretty face. She hasnt been given much exposure here though. Music - as we all know is a good one and specially the Missing Sunday, Manzar, PTHHH, Loot Liya and Kashmakash are great songs. Overall - the movie is a great entertainer and one of those entertainers which have a soul as well .. yes no yanna rascala and no chutki bhar sindoors and no hamming Mothers ... THIS ONE IS AN ENTERTAINER WITH SENSE. Ratings: As an Entertainer - 4.5/5 As a FIlm - 3.5/5 Biased rating 5/5 :D:D:D
