The final frontier, the realm of unknown, has been a subject that has a cycle and a periodicity which makes its appearance on a regular basis, its schedule of appearance now having a smaller turn around time. When the realm of unknown has an association with children, then it has altogether a different timber in its make up, as it had happened in case of KOI MIL GAYA, and it seems to be having in BHOOTNATH. In BHOOTNATH the Big B is a ghost who is visible only to the child artist and in conjunction with the child they play prank and have fun, which is going to tickle the bone of the audience more so the children. It was the same bon-homie that was exploited by GANESHA and it had set the cash counters ringing,

It seems that the realm of unknown appeals more when a child or a group of children are involved who have this power to converse with the unknown entity and settle their score against the bullies. In the modern times, if the watershed were to be searched on this count, then MR. INDIA would fit the bill in all its totality. It was however not followed by more such films of the same kind as is the trend, and it took a KOI MIL GAYA to follow in the leak of MR. INDIA.

Were one to take a comparative analysis with Hollywood, it has been experimenting with this genre on a regular basis and it all started in the early eighties with the STAR WAR series followed by ET, which in fact was a film that could be considered a milestone on this front. Most of the mainstream actors in Hollywood have also been a part of this genre which is not so the case with the Hindi films. Even Tom Hanks got an opportunity to be a part of this genre through the POLAR EXPRESS.

BR Films has had an interesting association with child actors from the black and white era and it is charting into the realm of the unknown through BHOOTNATH and with Big B as an affable Bhoot, it surely should tickle the cockles of the children and the children inside the adults.
