Upen Patel will form the third angle of the triangle in Rajkumar Santoshi's next along with Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. Even though the film is about the love story between Ranbir and Katrina's characters, Upen's role is not a flimsy one.

According to reports, Upen has confirmed that he has some 40 days work on the film. His character will make its appearance in the film quite like Salman Khan's did in Karan Johar's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. When he was offered the role, Upen knew he had no option but to accept. First of all, it was Santoshi who was offereing him a role. The second deciding factor was the role itself. Upen fell in love with his character. He admits to feeling ten feet tall when offered the role. Santoshi will be making a comedy again after 14 years. And if Ranbir's character is like Aamir Khan's in 'Andaz Apna Apna', Upen is like Salman's, says Santoshi about the film. Santoshi is very confident of recreating his magic with the young actors. One can only wait and see, if his confidence in Ranbir, Upen and Katrina is justified.
