Following closely in the footsteps of JP Dutta is director Rohit Jugraj. Like Dutta before him, Jugraj is all said to make a war film with as many as 21 actors. This sure beats Dutta's LOC. The project will be produced by actor Sanjay Dutt and Bunty Walia.
The only actor to have been signed on so far is Dutt himself. The rest of the cast is expected to be signed on in some time. The plan is to enlist at least six big names. The rest of the cast is expected to be taken from among the well known character actors in the industry. Jugraaj has got his script ready but has plans to start the film only in 2010. being a period movie, being made on a massive scale, he feels that it will need a lot of pre-production work. The film's story is said to be based on the little known Tirah Campaign fought in 1897. It involved a fight to the finish by 21 Sikhs of the Sikh Regiment of British Army. Dutt will be playing the role of their leader Havaldar Ishar Singh. The story goes that each of the 21 Sikhs died in the bloody battle fought against a 10,100 strong Afghan army. But each of the 21 was worth 100 Afghans, in the manner in which fought and died.
