London, April 5 (IANS) Late Beatle legend George Harrison will be awarded a posthumous star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame at a ceremony April 14.
The former Beatle, who died of cancer in 2001, was a founding member of the band and gained worldwide fame within the group for his songwriting and guitar playing.
His widow, Olivia, and son Dhani will be present at the ceremony in Hollywood, according to Contactmusic.com.
An announcement of a new music release from the star will also be made on the same day.
Harrison began a solo career after the Beatles split up in 1970 and released a solo album, 'All Things Must Pass', which resulted in the number one hit 'My sweet Lord'.
