Actress Sonam Kapoor created quite a stir with the 'Masakali' number in Delhi 6, is now in currently shooting for dad Anil Kapoor's home production Ayesha, which is based on Jane Austen's novel Emma. Rajshree Ojha, who has earlier directed Chaurahen (2007), Yatna (2005) and Badger (2002) will be helming the project.
Actor Abhay Deol will be stepping in to play the role of Mr Knightley, Emma's secret admirer and lover. Ayesha is currently being shot in Mumbai. The other good news for Sonam is that director Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra has been sufficiently impressed by her and has gone ahead and announced her as the heroine of his next project, which is based on the legendary love story between Sahibaan and Mirza. With Sonam being roped in to play the role of Sahibaan, speculation is on that Abhishek Bachchan may be signed on to play the role of Mirza. But there is yet to be any official announcement on this. Sonam may also be soon seen opposite Imran Khan in Dharma Productions' next, which will be directed by newcomer Puneet Malhotra.
