Washington, Oct 5 (ANI): After losing the custody of her kids, Britney Spears may have to surrender the custody of her beloved dogs to ex-hubby Kevin Federline, if PETA gets its way.
According to reports, Federline has been contacted by the animal welfare group, pleading with him to petition the court for custody of Spears' chihuahua, maltese and yorkshire terrier.
"As a father, your main concern is the comfort and stability of your children. London [Spears' Yorkshire terrier] and the other animals whom the boys consider to be a part of the family have provided that comfort and stability," E! Online quoted PETA President Ingrid Newkirk, as writing in a letter to Federline.
"The companionship of beloved companion animals can make a world of difference for the boys during this difficult time, and being separated from the animal friends whom they share a bond with is undoubtedly traumatic for them," he added.
PETA has consistently cast doubts over the 'Toxic' singer's concern towards her canine friends, as well as protested against her purchase of the tiny yorkshire terrier.
"For the sake of your children and the animals who are at risk while in Ms. Spears' custody, we hope that you will do the right and best thing for all involved and pursue a custody order for the animals so that your sons can continue to have the company of the animals they've grown to adore," Newkirk wrote.
