Director Ameer is one who chooses the location for his film very carefully, considering the demands of the script.

Ram was shot entirely in the picturesque Kodaikanal while Paruthiveeran was filmed in and around Madurai as he needed to portray the lifestyle of people dwelling in that area.

Now he has chosen Chennai as the location to shoot for his upcoming Yogi where he will be debuting as hero besides handling screenplay. It has been reported that Ameer is desirous of recording the lives of people living below the poverty line in Yogi and for this he will be shooting in slums, railway stations, subways and by lanes of the city which are inhabited by these people. Hence he is scouting for such areas in Chennai and will begin shooting soon.

A trivia about Ameer is that though he was to make his screen debut in a film directed by Samudirakani, he could not do that but all the same he will be working for him in a film after he completes Yogi.
