London, Oct 10 (ANI): Beatles legend John Lennon's wife Yoko Ono unveiled the Imagine peace tower in his name in Iceland, Reykjavik, on his 67th birth anniversary.
Ono turned on the lights of the monument to the music of Lennon's 'Imagine'.
The column of light will shine until December 8, the death anniversary of the legend.
The 72-year-old said that she considers herself very fortunate to realise the dream she and her husband saw.
"I consider myself very fortunate to see the dream my husband and I dreamt together become reality," the BBC quoted Ono, as saying.
Wishes from people across the world will be displayed in capsules and buried around the monument that is 20 meters high and one meter wide
The monument will have 'imagine peace' etched on it in 24 languages. (ANI)
