Balamurali Krishna the eminent carnatic music vocalist and musician was felicitated at Long Island near New York on behalf of Srivari Foundation.
Balamurali Krishna was a child prodigy and has been singing from as early as five years of age. He has the unique talent of playing many instruments like violin, viola, khanjira, veena, mridangam and other instruments.
He is not new to film industry and has even rendered the number ‘chinna kannan azhaikiran’ in Kavikuyil which strikes a chord with music lovers even today.
Nick Lampson, Member of Parliament, while awarding the citation from the American parliament lauded the multifaceted personality of Balamurali Krishna and said that his achievements in the music field are legendary in nature. Other dignitaries present in the function praised the singer and mentioned that his contribution to Indian Music was immeasurable. A few Bharatnatyam exponents were also honored at this function.
