FRANKFURT (Reuters) - James Bond actor Roger Moore is hoping to sell his life story for at least 1 million pounds ($2.04 million), his agent said at the Frankfurt Book Fair on Friday.

The autobiography, whose working title is "My Word is my Bond", will tell the real life story of the British actor best known as secret agent 007.

"Roger has told me he won't get out of bed to write for less than one million," agent Lesley Pollinger told Reuters.

Moore said in a statement that he would like to write "a warm, amusing, and maybe even slightly emotional volume".

Moore, who turns 80 on Sunday, thought no one would want to read about his life, said Gareth Owen, the actor's personal assistant, who will be ghost-writing the book.

"He finally gave in to his wife and daughter who told him to tell the story," Owen told Reuters by telephone, "He is a great raconteur."

"He wants to do it because he has reached his 80th year and feels it is time he reflected on life."

Moore, who has been married four times, first chased drug-dealing villains as James Bond in the 1973 film "Live and Let Die" and played the death-defying, womanising spy in a total of seven films until 1985.

His book is expected to be published next year.
