Rakeysh Mehra, whose film, Dilli 6 is supposed to start at the end of the year, suddenly decided to shoot an important scene in Delhi on Sunday, during Eid. After the moon was sighted on Saturday, Mehra and his crew flew to the capital for the shoot.
According to Mehra, they decided to go to Chandni Chowk and shoot the Eid sequence there as it forms a very important part of his film. He said that if he had waited, he would have had to wait for one full year. Mehra also added that he did not need any actors for the sequence. He just needed to shoot the incomparable morning-time festivities of Eid at Chandni Chowk. He said that the atmosphere cannot be captured in a studio. Dilli 6, is a semi-autobiographical film based on Mehra's growing up years spent in Chandni Chowk. Abhishek Bachchan is expected to play the lead role. The actor, who is currently away in Namibia shooting for Goldie Behl's Drona, is expected to come back and sign the deal. Cinematographer Binod Pradhan was present along with Mehra at the half-day shoot in the Capital.
