Sounds interesting, doesn't it. Looks like it wouldn't be too long before we get to watch movies on our cell phones.
Nag Ravi's Insight Media has been in the film publicity business for quiet some time. He first made his foray into the film distribution business with Arya's Vattaaram and made it later into the film publicity arena.
He was also associated with the audio release of Bommalattam and the publicity of the film. In recognition of this, he was recently awarded the Young Entrepreneur of the year award by the British Council.
This entrepreneur is up with another first in the industry; he has planned to release films on cell phones directly and is in talks with a leading cellular operator in this connection. That apart, he also intends foraying into film production business. He sees release of films over cell phones as an innovative platform for wider reach for small budget films that cannot get the required cinemas for release and also as a measure to curb piracy. Don't be surprised if they start with a bang with Bharathi Raja's Bommalattam laying the foundation stone.
