Mumbai: No Smoking is one film that's smoking hot not just because John Abraham is in it but also because its supposed to be a surrealistic take on a smoker trying to quit. And at a promotional event to announce the winners of a poster contest for the film, what caught our interest was the apparent mutual admiration between director Anurag Kashyap and John Abraham.

"Lots of times actors try to make an unconventional subject conventional because that makes them feel safe. But John is one actor who didn’t get afraid. I like realist actors,” said Kashyap.

John too was equally complimentary about the film and spoke about how his film is the most awaited one for smokers as well.

When told that Kashyap keeps raving about him, the actor said, “Anurag is a complete genius. When I read the script, I was surprised that a film like No Smoking has not been accepted by anybody.”

But what do John’s friends have to say about the promos?

“A lot of smokers who have seen the promos have said – ‘I want to see what this film is about. Smokers, their wives, girlfriends should go see this film because they would know how to deal with a smoker everyday in their life,” said John.
