It is rare to see a film maker appreciating a product from another film maker. And it is almost impossible to believe when films by each of the directors is releasing on the same day.Well, Anurag Kashyap has done just the impossible as he continues to sing praises for JAB WE MET even though his own NO SMOKING is confirmed for release on the same day as JAB WE MET i.e. 26th October.
A few weeks back when Anurag had got the opportunity to see the first cut of Imtiaz Ali directed JAB WE MET, he couldn't help hailing it as an entertainer waiting to explode. As it has turned out, it was not a spur of the moment comment since till date he believes that the Shahid-Kareena starrer has all what it takes to be loved by the audience.
All of this is commendable since he seems to be considering JAB WE MET as a healthy competition taking into consideration that his John Abraham-Ayesha Takia starrer NO SMOKING releases on the same day.
A complete antithesis of feel good JAB WE MET, NO SMOKING is apparently taking a dark/horror/stark route and is expected to shock the audience, especially those who smoke. Third release of the week would be Vikram Bhatt's first production MUMBAI SALSA, a light hearted take on urban youth.
