Actor Salman Khan knows how to step in and play the knight in armour for damsels in distress, both on and off the screen. It is this side of him which has won him so many ardent fans among males and females. The most recent instance of Salman's dashing knight behaviour was seen during a function organized by Neo Sports, when the Saawariya team was invited to interact with the Indian and Australian cricketers.

The Saawariya team was supposed to ask the cricketers some questions. Apparently Sonam jokingly asked Yuvraj Singh, who he was going out with tonight. Yuvraj countered by asking her if she was free for the night. Sonam was stunned as she was not expecting something as suggestive as a counter to her question. Everybody was looking at her and the poor girl did not know what to say in return. This is where Sallu bhai stepped in. He took stock of the situation immediately and realized that Sonam would not be able to find a witty repartee to Yuvraj's question. Rushing in to rescue the distressed damsel, he grabbed the mike and said that the cricketer was going out with him that night. That sent everyone laughing and Sonam was spared the blushes. But after that incident, Yuvraj did not say anything, preferring to keep quiet and laugh with the rest of the team. Later, the Saawariya team helped the cricketers to wear black leather jackets. Ranbir and Salman did the honours but Sonam did not join in.
