Washington, Oct 25 (ANI): Harry Potter author JK Rowling has been stunned by the reaction caused by her revelation that Hogwarts headmaster Professor Albus Dumbledore is gay.

The British author outed the powerful wizard at New York's Carnegie Hall on Friday, Oct 19 while on her American book tour.

The revelation provoked more that 3,000 comments on Harry Potter fansite, The Leaky Cauldron, and Rowling admits that she never expected the furore it raked up.

"It has certainly never been news to me that a brave and brilliant man could love other men," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

However, she insists that since Dumbledore is her creation, she is the one who will have the final word on all matters concerning the headmaster, including his sexual orientation.

"He is my character. He is what he is and I have the right to say what I say about him," she said. (ANI)
