Mumbai: When a Bollywood actor like Abhishek Bachchan associates himself with an NGO, it becomes easier to spread the word. Monday Oct 29 6:05 PM
The actor took time off on Sunday evening and made a guest appearance at a charity event in Mumbai organised by Khushi, an NGO working towards the betterment of street children.
People got together to participate in an auction of paintings by renowned artists.
“Tonight is an evening to stand up for Khushi and the causes they stand for,” said Abhishek.
Apart from Bachchan junior, some more famous faces were spotted at this fundraiser.
“Celebrities come together to give those people a better life who are not so fortunate. So one feels happy about that,” said former Indian captain Kapil Dev.
“The advantage of a celebrity painting is that it has a famous name attached to it but whether it’s a good painting remains to be seen,” said actor Kim Sharma.
Celebrities sell and no one knows that better than these charitable organisations. Five minutes of star presence and they get all the required publicity.
And one can proudly say our Bollywood big-wigs are always a step ahead when it comes to supporting charity.
