Guess the latest trend in Kollywood is to come up with novel publicity gimmicks.
We saw this trend picking up with Kanthaswamy’s audio release going live followed by Rameswaram and now it’s the turn of Pirivom Santhippom director Karu. Pazhaniappan.
He has decided to release the audio of this film, with Sneha and Cheran in the lead, in Coimbatore against the conventional Chennai release.
It doesn’t seem to stop there! He has also planned to give away New Year calendars as free gifts to the first five lakh viewers of the film. Sounds novel indeed. But wouldn’t that make filmgoers wary of the film considering that such giveaways might be perceived as ways and means to entice viewers to an otherwise unattractive fare, considering the fact that director Karu. Pazhaniappan has a repertoire for giving good films and a respectable fan following?
