Mumbai: Following in the footsteps of star sons, the young turks from the world of politics are now heading towards tinsel-town. After Vilasrao Deshmukh’s son Ritesh Deshmukh, yet another political prodigy is now set to make his Bollywood debut.Thursday Nov 1 9:15 AM
Lok Janshakti Party president Ram Vilas Paswan's son Chirag announced his debut in Bollywood on Wednesday evening – also his 25th birthday – with some of the well-known names from the film industry in attendance.
Add to that, a very proud father was besides him, cheering him on.
"We were worried about what he was going to do next but now that he has declared his acting ambitions, we are happy for him,” Ram Vilas Paswan said.
The budding actor, too, played the dutiful son to the fullest. "I've learnt everything from my father, I always look up to him,” he said.
Industry’s wise men had some words of advice for the newcomer
"I hope he gets a good director and a good script. He’s a great looking guy. He has his head on shoulders and feet firmly on ground,” said Actor Jackie Shroff. Jeetendra too wished him luck.
Some like director Sudhir Mishra also had a word of caution for the young man. "Welcome to the world of tough times, insecurities anxieties. You’re only as good as your last film. It’s a tough world and may God bless you,” he said.
Chirag will be launched in Maverick Productions’ untitled project, and work on the film will begin early next year.
