Director Shekhar Kapoor is all set to revive his defunct project Time Machine, if sources are to be believed. This time round, it seems that the celebrated director has roped in good friend Ronnie Screwvala of UTV as the official producer of the film. The duo has even had quite a few high profile meetings behind closed doors.
Aamir was a part of the original film. According to sources, if the actor gives his consent, the film will get underway next year. Shekhar and Ronnie have a longtime association and they have been discussing the project for a long time till recently when Ronnie agreed to produce the film. Time Machine was abandoned halfway in 1992 when because of a lack of finances. Aamir had shot a few portions before Shekhar called it quits. Originally, the film was to star Rekha as well. But now it is believed that a younger leading actress will replace Rekha in the project. Shekhar has started fresh talks with Aamir and is also making a few changes in the film, which is essentially a comedy. According to UTV sources, the project is quite close to Shekhar's heart and the script has great potential. They are presently talking to a few actors and intend to begin the project next year.
