Melbourne, Nov 6 (ANI): Sylvester Stallone is in talks to helm and star in an MGM remake of the 1974 Charles Bronson starrer "Death Wish."
The actor is keen on playing the role of an ordinary man who goes vigilante after his wife and daughter are attacked.
The script for the movie is being penned by Michael Ferris and John Brancato.
Brancato's credits include "Terminator 3" and "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins."
Paramount Pictures controls some "Death Wish" rights and has an option to partner. However MGM plans to go ahead with it even without Paramount on board.
Producing the pic will be Stallone's partner, Kevin King.
"We hope to get a deal done with Sylvester Stallone to direct and star, and like the 'Rocky' and 'Rambo' films, we see this as another potential franchise for him," Variety quoted MGM chief operating officer Rick Sands, as saying. (ANI)
