Mumbai: This Diwali saw the release of two most awaited releases of the year, Saawariya and Om Shanti Om. CNN-IBN gets you a firsthand reaction as the audience from Delhi and Mumbai gave their opinions on everything from music to direction and rated the performances of the stalwarts vs the newcomers.Saturday Nov 10 10:45 AM
Endless promotions and non-stop publicity, SRK's six pack and Ranbir Kapoor's naked silhouette, Deepika Padukone's chiseled perfection and Sonam Kapoor's girl next door portrayal — all of it is finally up for the viewers rating and the audience is clearly not mincing words in giving their opinion.
Saawariya has come as a disappointment to most movie goers, some of whom have gone to the extent of saying that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has lost the art of making films and that they want their money back.
Meanwhile, the reactions on Om Shanti Om are mixed. Some say it's a much better than Bhansali's magnum opus, while others say it's a remake of Karz and is bound to flop.
And while it's seemingly Shah Rukh's pulling power roping in eyeballs for Om Shanti Om, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor have come out tops with the viewers, with the audiences claiming that the likes of Easha Deol and Aishwarya Rai will go to the 'bin' with the coming of Deepika Padukone.
The audience has rated the films, but for a clearer trade picture, one will have to wait at least till the weekend is over.
