The release of Sarkar Raj, Ram Gopal Varma's sequel to the Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan starrer Sarkar, has been delayed. According to the buzz doing the rounds, the film was supposed to release in December but now Ramu seems to be unsure about the date.
According to sources, Ramu does not want his film to release at the same time as Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodhaa Akbar. Ash plays a historical character in Jodhaa Akbar while in Sarkar Raj she plays a high profile businesswoman. As both looks are different, Ramu does not want a clash, it is believed. Sarkar Raj will be Ash's first film opposite Abhishek after their wedding. The actress was very keen that it should be her first release after marriage. In fact she is also believed to have had a blast shooting for the film in Hyderabad with Asbhishek and Amitabh. However sources in Verma's office deny any question of postponing the release of Sarkar Raj. According to them, they have not yet announced the release of Sarkar Raj so the question of postponing the release date does not even arise. According to them, post production work on the film is in progress and there are also certain scenes of the film which are yet to be shot. Sarkar Raj is tentatively set for a release in either the first week of February or April next year. The promos of the film should release by the year-end. It is being believed that though the Big B and Abhishek are quite brilliant in the movie, ash may well turn out to be the surprise package.
